What happens after I export my SSP?
Your SSP Word document and POA&M Excel file are yours to keep, edit, and share with your assessor or RPO. Plainscope stores your draft in your account so you can return, update narratives, and re-export. Pro plan subscribers can regenerate narratives any time as their environment changes.
How accurate is the SPRS score estimate?
The SPRS score Plainscope generates is an estimate based on your self-reported control implementation status. It uses the standard DoD scoring methodology (110-point scale, starting at 110 and deducting per NIST SP 800-171 Rev 2 weights). It is not an official score and has not been verified by a C3PAO. Use it for gap awareness and remediation prioritization.
Is Plainscope an authorized C3PAO or assessor?
No. Plainscope is a documentation tool, not an assessment body. We draft your System Security Plan and POA&M; a CyberAB-certified C3PAO conducts the assessment. Our output is designed to meet C3PAO document expectations, but your qualified assessor reviews and attests before any submission.
Does Plainscope store my CUI?
No. Plainscope captures descriptions of how your organization handles CUI — not the CUI itself. We never store, process, or transmit Controlled Unclassified Information. This scope boundary significantly reduces your data risk and ours.
